Two great activities this Saturday!

Please make plans to join us on Saturday, Nov. 3 as Scrapbook Generation celebrates its eighth year in business. Because we wouldn't be here if it weren't for our loyal customers, we're putting the whole store on sale! On Saturday, you can purchase any in-stock item at SG for 20% off.

This discount is good for in-store purchases only. Check out our November calendar on the right sidebar and you'll find several opportunities coming up for our local AND online shoppers this month!

We'll be making the three layouts above on Saturday, November 3 in the Debbie Sanders Super-Saver Scrapbooking sessions. As always, your cost to make these three layouts at SG is an amazing $9. (The retail value of the materials you'll be using is almost $11.)

This is one of the easiest Super-Savers we've done! All those banners are die-cuts, so you have very little cutting to do!

Give us a call at 417-886-0440 to register and pre-pay. Sessions are held at 10, 12:30 and 2:30.

SPECIAL OFFER: Attend one of the three sessions this Saturday and get double punches on your Studio G Reward Card. That's right, two punches this week! Don't have a card yet? No problem...we'll make sure you get one!

The Studio G Reward Card program will end on December 31, 2012, so make sure to get all the punches you can in order to get the rewards you want before the program ends.

Note to Super Sketch Club members: Yes, materials for these three layouts will be included in your November kit!

KITS:
• All kits must be requested before the class activities take place on Saturday.
• The fee for a kit is $10, and is due at the time the request is made.
• If you need the kit shipped to you, the shipping charge is an additional $5.99.
The best deal for our long-distance customers? Join the monthly Super Sketch Club and get this kit, the Debbie Sanders sketch layout kit, and the Allison Davis sketch layout kit (materials and sketches for five double-page layouts) for $20 plus $6.99 shipping.

Retreat recipes!

Our retreat caterer was kind enough to share three of the recipes she prepared for "formal night" at SG's recent "cruise" retreats.

Captain’s Dinner Brisket
Mix together and pour over trimmed brisket:
• 1 can beef gravy
• ½ cup Italian dressing
• 1 envelope dry onion soup mix

Cover tightly with foil and bake 1 hour per pound at 300.
Cool completely and slice.  Top with sliced mushrooms, cover and reheat 30 minutes at 300.  This serves 1 ½ - 2 people per pound.  Leftovers make great sandwiches!

Seasoned Whipped Potatoes
• 8 cups prepared mashed potatoes (I used instant)
• 2 cups sour cream
• 16 oz. cream cheese
• 2 tsp. dried chives
• ½ tsp garlic powder

Spread in greased baking pan and top with:
Mix together -
• ½ cup dry bread crumbs
• 2 Tblsp. melted butter

Bake 45-50 minutes at 350. May sprinkle top with 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese before serving.

Green Bean Bundles
• Whole green beans (fresh, frozen or canned) about 20 per bundle.
• Strips of bacon

Partially fry bacon and wrap 1 strip around each bundle, secure with a toothpick.
Place bundles in a baking dish.

• ½ cup butter
• 2 tsp. garlic powder
• 1 ½ cup brown sugar

Bring sugar, garlic and butter to a boil, dissolve sugar. Pour over beans and bake approximately 30 minutes at 350. You may just place beans in baking dish, lay strips of bacon on top and pour sugar sauce over top…not as impressive, but just as tasty!

SG's final retreats

We wanted to share photos from our final two retreats. We had a wonderful time with the over 100 people who attended our last weekend retreats in Branson.

There are lots of things we'll miss about the retreats, especially the friendships made over the 13 retreats spanning almost seven years.

However, as I've shared with many of you, we are simply desperate for time! We have several large projects (including new sketches books!) that require large blocks of time. With four retreats and three Scrap-a-Paloozas each year, plus a constant schedule of kits, we've just been spreading ourselves too thin. The extra time will allow us to concentrate on new sketches books, more downloads, and more kits.

Thanks so much to everyone who has attended one of our retreats! We've appreciated your support, and hope to stay in contact!

Our first port of call, Friday evening, was in Cancun.

Our second port of call, for Saturday lunch, was in Tahiti.

Karin, Debbie, Stacey, and Captain Allison at the last of our 13 retreats spanning almost seven years. It's been great fun and we hate to see that come to an end. Thanks to all who have attended our retreats!

Connie joined us from Seattle. Between the two weekends, we had "cruisers" from Georgia, Pennsylvania, Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Illinois, Oklahoma, California, and several other states!
